The Structured Cardigan is inspired by a one-size manufactured sweater (size 2). The body is worked from the bottom up and the sleeves are worked from the top down. The arms, body, and collar are stitched together at the end. This sweater was designed for a non-super wash heavy Aran weight yarn which helps keep the detail and structure.

A note about yarn selection:

Gauge and structure of yarn is very important for the garment to achieve its intended final look. The garment is meant to have good structure and little drape. In order to achieve that and avoid yarn that can’t meet gauge, it’s recommended to stick with the suggested yarn or choosing a yarn that is made with 100% non-superwash wool, has good toothiness, and is a true Aran or light bulky weight yarn (meeting gauge provided above). Yarns deviating from this (other fibers, other weights, superwash treatments, etc) will still knit a beautiful garment, but it may be different than the sample shown of the finished garment
